Sensor-equipped mobile phones make handy all-in-one controllers for navigating virtual environments. This paper presents Phone-Based Motion Control, a one-handed travel technique that uses the phone's touchscreen for viewpoint translation while its built-in sensors handle orientation. By separating translation and rotation onto distinct interactions, it evaluates how different control mappings support effective navigation in VR.
