I’m a research scientist and builder working on adaptive, multimodal extended-reality systems. My work sits at the intersection of XR, empathic computing, physiological and affective computing, and HCI — and it spans both rigorous research and shipped products.

Most recently I was a Staff Research Scientist (IC6) at Meta Reality Labs, where I led research on mitigating visual discomfort in immersive environments using physiological computing, and led the development of VR.Net, a large-scale VR motion-sickness dataset that received the Best Paper award at IEEE VR 2024.

Before Meta, I held academic posts at the University of Queensland — where I founded the Empathic XR & Pervasive Computing Lab — and the University of South Australia, along with roles in the US and across Australia. Throughout, I’ve built and shipped applications across AR, VR, and mobile.

I’ve supervised and graduated 30+ students, secured $1.5M+ in research funding, and serve the field as a conference organiser, including as General Chair of IEEE ISMAR.
