BrowsAR
A mobile augmented-reality browser for exploring the web in the space around you.
BrowsAR reimagines web browsing as a spatial activity. Instead of a single flat viewport, pages and search results are anchored to the physical space around the user, letting them lay information out in the world and glance between sources the way they would with paper on a desk.
The problem it solves
Phone screens are small and force everything through one narrow window. BrowsAR uses the device camera and motion sensors to treat the room as a larger canvas, so multiple pages can live side by side in space.
Highlights
- Anchor web content to real-world surfaces and locations.
- Glanceable multitasking — several pages visible at once.
- Touch + spatial gestures for arranging content.
Recognition
BrowsAR was first runner-up at the Australian Entrepreneurs’ Challenge, an early validation that research-grade AR interaction ideas could translate into a product people wanted to use.
